On December 18th, 2021, RainMed Coronary Physiology Forum was successfully held during the China Cardiovascular Health Conference 2021. Renowned cardiovascular experts from all over the country held a heated discussion on the research progress, clinical significance and application scenarios of caFFR and caIMR, angiography-derived coronary function assessment indicators.

Prof. Yi Zhang noted that we do not recommend revascularization for non-culprit vessels in STEMI patients from traditional view. In recent years, with the accumulation of experience in interventional therapy, the improvement of surgical instruments, and the emergence of more potent anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs, several studies have supported the revascularization of non-culprit vessels in STEMI patients. The DANAMI3-PRIMULTI study showed that FFR-guided complete revascularization did not increase surgical complications, but reduced revascularization rates and thus significantly reduced composite endpoints compared to the treatment of culprit lesions alone. Based on evidence, European guidelines recommended that routine revascularization of non-infarct-related vessels be considered before hospital discharge in STEMI patients with multivessel lesions. Prof. Zhang said compared with traditional FFR measurement methods, angiography-derived caFFR is safe, efficient, simple and accurate, which can greatly improve the clinical application rate of FFR.

Prof. Huo pointed out that FFR is the "gold standard" for functional evaluation of coronary stenosis, but FFR can only evaluate the function of epicardial coronary vessels, and the combination of FFR and IMR can provide a complete functional evaluation of blood vessels from epicardial coronary arteries to intramyocardial microcirculation. However, similar to the traditional guidewire-derived FFR, the traditional guide wire-derived IMR is complex to operate and is not convenient for clinical promotion. Therefore, RainMed Medical developed caIMR. Comparative studies show that caIMR has high accuracy. Similar to caFFR, caIMR also doesnt require pressure wire and hyperemic agents, and provides real-time IMR values without additional surgery or procedures.

Prof. Huo also said that RainMed Medical will launch the pan-vascular interventional diagnosis and treatment robot system, and expand the application scope from coronary vessels to cerebrovascular, renal artery, pulmonary artery, and other peripheral blood vessels. It aims to reshape diagnosis and treatment in the industry and bring innovative treatment solutions for the majority of doctors and patients.
