On August 27, 2022, during the 21st Cardiovascular Disease Academic Conference of Shanxi Medical Association, RainMed Medical successfully held a satellite symposium in order to popularize the clinical application of calculating coronary physiological indicators and promote precise interventional treatment of coronary heart disease. Renowned experts in the field of cardiovascular diseases were invited to discuss the latest progress of coronary functional evaluation technology and the clinical application of innovative functional indicators caFFR and caIMR.

 

 

The symposium was chaired by professor Bo Xu from Fuwai Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. Professor Yuping Gao from Shanxi Bethune Hospital, Professor Chunrong Jin from First Hospital of Shanxi Medical University, Professor Shifang Liu from The Fifth Peoples Hospital of Datong served as the hosts. Professor Bo Xu from Fuwai Hospital Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences, Professor Qing Yang from Tianjin Medical University General Hospital and Professor Yimin Wang from Linfen Peoples hospital served as the speakers.

 

Professor Bo Xu: RainMed’s digital coronary functional diagnosis system can perform complete coronary functional evaluation simply and effectively, and it would promote the development of precise diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease

 

In his speech, Professor Bo Xu said that China has entered the era of precise coronary intervention, and coronary functional evaluation can significantly improve the prognosis. However, the traditional functional evaluation technology has limited its clinical application, so a number of innovative coronary functional evaluation methods have emerged. The digital coronary functional diagnosis system of RainMed Medical is one of the outstanding methods, which is helpful to expand the clinical application of coronary functional science and promote the precise diagnosis and treatment of coronary heart disease.

 

Subsequently, Professor Bo Xu gave a keynote speech on the importance of functional evaluation in the treatment of coronary heart disease. He pointed out that PCI without improving prognosis has no health economics significance, and effective guidelines are urgently needed in clinical practice. The clinical value of FFR has been widely recognized, and the authoritative guidelines recommend the use of IMR to evaluate coronary microcirculation function. The digital coronary function diagnostic system of RainMed is different from the guidewire-based FFR technology and coronary luminal imaging technology. It is simple, accurate, safe and fast to evaluate coronary function without intervention. Moreover, the system can calculate caFFR value and caIMR value at the same time and provide complete functional evaluation, which effectively promote precise diagnosis and treatment.

 

 

Professor Qing Yang: IMR is an important indicator to evaluate microvascular function, and RainMed's caIMR is a powerful substitute for guide wire-based IMR

 

Professor Qing Yang made a special report on the clinical application of the index of coronary microcirculation resistance (IMR). He pointed out that IMR is an important index to evaluate microvascular function. Compared with CFR, IMR can specifically reflect coronary microcirculation function, and its repeatability is higher than CFR. RainMed's caIMR system directly calculates IMR based on angiograms. Compared with guidewire-based IMR technology, there is no need of pressure guidewire, hyperemic agents, repeated injection of SPSS, which has outstanding advantages of safety, convenience and efficiency. RainMed's caIMR system can replace the guidewire-based IMR and can be widely used in the diagnosis of coronary microcirculation function in patients with coronary heart disease and in the prognosis evaluation of coronary heart disease.

 

 

Professor Yimin Wang: The use of RainMed's caFFR system significantly simplifies the postoperative FFR evaluation process without complicated withdrawal and equalize operations

 

Professor Yimin Wang introduced the postoperative value of FFR and the advantages of caFFR system with a clinical case. He pointed out that FFR measurement after PCI has been proved to have significant prognostic value, and it is also recommended by experts to evaluate the effect of stent implantation. caFFR is an advanced FFR evaluation method that provides intuitive and detailed inspection reports without retraction or verification. It can quickly locate the problem segments, provide greater convenience and safety than guidewire-based FFR, and significantly simplify the postoperative evaluation process.

 

 

In this meeting, we discussed the latest progress of coronary function evaluation technology of RainMed Medical, and gave a targeted demonstration of the diagnosis and treatment advantages and clinical application of non-interventional coronary functional evaluation equipment caFFR system and caIMR system, which provides an opportunity to improve the clinical application rate of coronary functional evaluation and promote coronary precise medicine.
