RainMed Medical's caIMR system is a globally pioneering non-invasive diagnosis technology for coronary microcirculation function. Microcirculatory dysfunction is common in daily clinical diagnosis and treatment. However, it is difficult to observe the microvessels and assess coronary microcirculation by using imaging methods. Also it is not a a good choice to use the traditional guidewire-derived IMR as a routine assessment in clinical practice due to its technical difficulty, high risk, and long time of measurement. Therefore, the coronary microcirculation will often be neglected or misdiagnosed.  The caIMR system independently developed by RainMed Medical solves the technical difficulties of traditional coronary microcirculation diagnosis. It doesn’t require pressure guidewires, hyperemic agents, injection of saline, or additional surgical operations. It can quickly get IMR values within 5 minutes, and clinicians can operate independently after receiving only 3 training sessions.

The premise of effective treatment is scientific diagnosis and treatment. Currently, the caIMR system has completed the world's first pre-market clinical study of non-invasive microcirculation. Academician Junbo Ge from Zhongshan Hospital affiliated to Fudan University and Professor Yong Huo from Peking University First Hospital served as co-PIs of the study. The results showed that compared with guidewire-derived IMR, the diagnostic accuracy of the caIMR system reached 93.81%, and it has high consistency, sensitivity, and specificity. This means that the product can replace guidewire-derived IMR and become a new technology for quantitative assessment of coronary microcirculation, opening a new era of non-invasive diagnosis of coronary microcirculation in clinical practice.

Thanks to its international leading technology and superior clinical value, the caIMR system has successfully entered the special approval channel for innovative medical devices of the National Medical Products Administration, and has obtained the priority approval and review rights for product listing. In April 2023, RainMed Medical's caIMR system was successfully launched, becoming one of the world's first non-invasive coronary microcirculation diagnostic products on the market, providing a new opportunity for clinical application of coronary microcirculation function assessment, and also providing new technology for the diagnosis of complex coronary artery disease.
