Academician Junbo Ge: Mastering and Actively Applying Coronary Functional Evaluation Techniques and Promote Accurate Coronary Intervention

 

In his speech, Academician Junbo Ge said that it is not uncommon for stenosis severity shown by coronary angiography to be inconsistent with the functional evaluation of coronary arteries. Therefore, we should change the old habit of thinking of interventional therapy when treating coronary artery stenosis, and scientifically diagnose whether the stenosiswith coronary angiography actually induces functional ischemia. Since newly developed coronary functional evaluation technique can accurately determine myocardial ischemia, we should master and actively apply this evaluation technology to assist treatment decision-making. It can not only further improve the prognosis, but also reduce stent implantation and simplify the surgical process.

 

 

Professor Bei Shi: IMR is an Important Indicator to Evaluate Microvascular Function, and RainMeds caIMR is a Powerful Substitute for Guide Wire-based IMR

 

Professor Bei Shi made a special report on the understanding and progress of the index of coronary microcirculation resistance. She pointed out that in the treatment of coronary microvascular disease, the first step is to have an appropriate evaluation index of microvascular function. IMR can be easily used in the cathlab, and compared with CFR, IMR can specifically evaluate coronary microvascular function, scientifically diagnose coronary microcirculation dysfunction, and evaluate the prognosis of patients with coronary heart disease. In order to overcome the technical and popularization difficulties of conventional FFR and IMR measurement techniques, RainMed Medical developed caFFR system and caIMR system based on coronary angiography. Compared with conventional measurement techniques, both caFFR and caIMR system have the advantages of simple, safe and rapid operation with extremely high diagnostic accuracy. According to Professor Yunlong Huo, caFFR and caIMR will be integrated as digital functional diagnostic modules in RainMed's vascular interventional surgery robot.

 

 

Professor Hao Lu: More and More Evidence Supports the Clinical Application of RainMeds caIMR System, Which Provides an Opportunity for the Development of Functional Evaluation of Coronary Microcirculation

 

Professor Hao Lu introduced the latest progress of clinical trial of caIMR system. He pointed out that caIMR system is based on clear angiograms, real-time aortic pressure, TIMI frame count and optimized CFD algorithm to measure IMR. Compared with guide wire-based IMR, there is no need to use pressure guide wire, hyperemic agents, and saline, which is simple, safe and fast. Clinical evidence suggests that the caIMR system can be used as a substitute for guide wire-based IMR to evaluate blood flow in the coronary microcirculatory and to evaluate surgical and clinical outcomes in patients with coronary heart disease (MINOCA, SCAD after PCI, and STEMI ) and heart transplantation. The increasing clinical evidence provides a new opportunity for the large-scale clinical application of the evaluation of coronary microcirculation dysfunction.

 

 

Subsequently, Prof. Yuming Lu, Prof. Zheng Shen, Prof. Feng Du and Prof. Xiangshu Long introduced the postoperative value and systematic advantages of caFFR. Compared with guide wire-derived FFR, caFFR system significantly simplifies the optimization procedures after interventional surgery without complicated retraction and verification operations, and accurately evaluates myocardial ischemia. Therefore, it is a big help for accurate coronary intervention.

 

In this forum, the wonderful explanation of experts and scholars gave the participants a further understanding of the indications and clinical application advantages of RainMeds functional diagnostic products.
